a WEDDING BAND!!!!  And a wedding dress – yep I managed to remember to actually pick it up.  Go me!

I stalked my Fedex tracking this morning and while I wasn’t paying attention it was delivered.  As soon as I realized this I ran downstairs to get my box.  I must say I LOVE my new band.  It is perfect.  The diamonds are just the right size and sparkle beautifully.  It only took 5 months for me to figure out I could order something that I would love.  Lesson learned….maybe 😉

I must say I am incredibly impressed with Blue Nile.  They really have exceeded my expectations.  I know it feels odd to buy such jewelry from an online store but their rings really are great.   M also got my engagement ring there and both my rings are amazing.  I really can’t say enough good things.

Crap!  I completely forgot to go pick up my dress this afternoon.  I literally JUST remembered I was supposed to run by this afternoon.  Ughh!  I just called and I can pick it up tomorrow.  Can we say scatterbrain?

I was about to start my blog when I remembered.  Today has been super crazy.  My coworker is out due to family issues and for some reason everything needed be done today.  My boss asked me to look over his cases.  This is on top of the large amount of orders I was already working on.  Then I was asked to do process disco’s which normally are a big deal and get done when they get done.  GRRRR!  And of course everyone had some sort of problem.  After sitting at my desk literally eating and working I wished I had decided to run to Michael’s for a few minutes.  And now I’ve forgotten about my dress.  *shakes head*

I was about to write about our weekend since M and I were pretty busy and productive.  Friday night, AFTER my fitting, I came home and M and I began to paint the foyer.  The whole house needs to be painted so slowly we will work our way from the first floor to the third floor.  Or M will decide we can hire someone. 😉  *hint hint, nudge nudge*

I picked out a lovely shade of mocha ?  khaki ? chocolate milk ?  It is the same color we painted the laundry room and I am in love.  It is such a nice shade and it looks amazing against the white crown molding.

Hopefully tomorrow I won’t forget anything….

Over the weekend I talked to M about my wedding band and how I wasn’t sure this was the one.  I knew when it finally came in it wasn’t exactly what I was expecting.  I guess I was hoping to feel different but I never did.  Now with the thought of it coming back this week I just couldn’t take it.  This is NOT my wedding band.  And it has been such a pain that I don’t want it.

So now I have 5 weeks left to find a ring.  Awesome right?  Sure is when anything I might want would need to be special ordered due to my insanely small fingers.  I decided to look at the place M bought my engagement ring from and I found a few rings in my price range that I really liked.  I also found a coupon code to knock a little more off the price AND they were offering free upgraded shipping if you ordered today.

This morning I called the store I ordered my other ring from and asked for our deposit back.  After going back through all the details with the store manager and finally telling him I did not want another ring, I wanted my money back he obliged.  Thirty minutes of my life I will never get back but anyway it’s done now.  Hopefully I will never have to deal with this store again.

Now back to the other store.  I found 2 I really liked that were quite different from each other.  I decided I had all day to make the decision, and really it didn’t have to be made at all today.  Finally after some thinking I decided on one ring.  Honestly it is similar in style to the custom ring but a little different.  I used my coupon code and with everything said and done, the new ring only ended up being $30.00 more.  🙂  And it will be here WEDNESDAY!

So after 5 MONTHS of dealing with the jewelry store here in town I will have my ring in less then 2 days.  It will be shipped to my office and I will finally have a wedding band.  After all of the ups and downs and waiting it will be here.  I have to say I was pretty worried with the thought I might not be able to find something in time.   I really wish I had been able to see the ring in person first but my engagement ring is great and I’m sure this one will be as well.

Now I can anxiously await for Wednesday and the Fedex guy!

The past couple of days I’ve been obsessing about my hair.  Mainly shampoos and such.  My current shampoo and conditioner I’ve used for years now.  Every now and then I will switch it up but this has been my go to for a while.  Recently M decided that my conditioner smells.  And by smells I mean smells yucky.  Sure the conditioner isn’t great smelling but it’s never bothered me.  Now that he doesn’t like it I’ve been on a search to find something different and cheaper and sold at Target?  I love Target! 🙂

The other day I ran to Target after work with a specific brand in mind, Big Sexy Hair.  After looking and looking I could only find shampoo, no conditioner.  BOOO!  I couldn’t just buy shampoo so I decided to look for something else.  The next thing I found was Nexxus.  It smells AMAZING and it comes in the liter bottles.  I bought the small bottles to test it out.  Well it smells good.  That is literally the ONLY good thing I have to say.  My hair feels like crap, my scalp feels oily, I have tons of static and this is only day 2.

I am going to take it back this weekend and get something else.  A couple of girls have recommended Sauve so that is my next choice.  Hopefully this will work otherwise M is going to have to deal with the smelly Joico I currently have.  Or I could switch back to Paul Mitchell.  I haven’t decided.

Today I ran to Ulta on the search for Moroccan Oil.  This stuff is supposed to magic for your hair so you know I had to try it.  I called to make sure they had it and sure enough they didn’t actually have the Moroccan Oil I was looking for.  They did have another brand, a brand I like, so I picked it up.  I can’t wait to see how amazing this stuff is tomorrow.  Pretty much I am hair crazy.  🙂

I will have to wait a few more days to find out but last night I stumbled across an Etsy site with hair flowers.  Ohhhh hair flowers.  I <3 them.   But mostly I have been unable to find THE one.  I bought a white one a while back.  I had planned to use it with Russian Tulle but now that I’m pretty much decided on my hairstyle it doesn’t work so well.  The tulle just stands out and looks silly.

I thought I would just take the tulle off and wear the flower but I never really “loved” the flower.  So last night as I was cruising the net I came across this cute Etsy shop, TheGirlyTutu.  The seller was great to work with today and I cannot WAIT to get my hair flower.

The funny part is, the hair flower is actually for babies and was supposed to come with a headband.  I think the flower will be just big enough without being too big.  It’s really soft and light and I think it will be perfect.  YAY!

I also got my “sunglasses” today.  About two weeks ago I ordered rx glasses with sunglass tint.  I wasn’t really sure how they would look but they look awesome.  I am so excited to actually have something I can wear in the sun and still see.  I figured this would be pretty necessary in St Lucia since there will be great things to see and I don’t care to wear my contacts all the time.  YAY! number 2.

As the wedding gets closer I feel like I want to blog less and less.  I am have no idea what I will do with myself when the wedding is over and I have nothing else to DIY.  Maybe I will open an Etsy shop. 🙂  Maybe I will begin doing a DIY project each week that I can blog about.  Hmmm, now that’s an idea.

This weekend was my bachelorette party in Wilmington.  I am lucky to have some great friends that were able to come and spend the weekend helping me celebrate.  Friday afternoon I picked Kris up from the airport and we grabbed Michelle and headed to Wilmington, everyone else would come down on Saturday.

Once we got to the hotel and finally got the car parked we headed out for dinner.  We went to Front Street Brewery to grab some dinner and drinks.  After that we headed out to find a bar.  We stopped at some martini bar with an odd crowd, had a drink and headed back to the hotel.

About 3:30 in the morning we were all awaken to a really loud “OOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHH” (read really high pitched shrill voice) and laughing from the room next door.  This continued for a while and then there was a lot of baning.  Like bags hitting the floor.  We were all more then annoyed and finally we decided to call the front desk.  The loudness stopped after that.  Finally!

Saturday we got up and decided to walk around town until the others arrived.  We did some shopping, met up with Lisa and Tracey and had lunch.  More shopping and walking until Elizabeth arrived.  Then Kris and I decided we needed a nap.  We laid down and not 10 minutes later the obnoxious neighbor started up again. Ughh!  It was about time to start getting ready for dinner anyway but man it was annoying to not even be able to just take a 15 minute nap.

That night we went to Elijah’s for dinner.  Thankfully Lisa had offered to drive to dinner because while we were eating  it began to pour.  Our waitress was great and gave us the number of a guy with a golf cart service who could drive us around later.  We took full advantage of “cartman” and had him drive us all downtown.

The first bar we walked in, we looked around and walked out.  It wasn’t really our crowd so we headed to the bar across the street with cool music playing.  It was a Pirate bar, arrrggghhh!  HAHA!  We at least had a drink here but the crowd was pretty sketch and some random guy decided he could pat me on the ass.  I promptly moved around the bar.  🙂

Next up we went to Reel.  It was cool brick building with good music.  We walked upstairs and it looked like we had just walked in on the prom after party.  A bartender told us it was a UNCW event but I think it was prom.  No pics to prove it. 😉  We stayed here for a few drinks before heading back to the room.  We all stayed up for a while chatting.

I fully expected to be woken up again in the middle of the night by the loud neighbor but either we all drank enough to not hear her or she got arrested and never made it back.  Not sure which one is true but I feel confident it could have been the latter. 😉

Sunday we all headed back to Raleigh. I was really glad to get home and see M and the kiddos.  Thankfully I wasn’t too tired from the weekend, though I may have squeezed in a little nap.

And now it’s Monday and I’m already over this week.

Well this is probably my last post for the week.  I’ve done a stellar job thus far.  I know I forgot yesterday.  Anyway, I ran to Target tonight and picked up a few more items that could be wedding related.  Just some card stock and flower stickers.

I’ve been thinking about making bride and groom signs to hang from our chairs at the reception.  Originally I wanted to do wooden signs but M wasn’t really feeling that idea and I’m not very good at painting letters/words on wood.  Next best option, paper.  So as I was sitting here pondering whether or not I should do bride/groom or mr/mrs, I hit up the knot to see what my fellow knotties thought.  One girl suggested bride and groom since we only get those titles for one day but we will be mr and mrs for life.  I like her thinking!

And as luck would have it I bought an extra piece of gray card stock at Michaels.  Viola, signs are made.  Just like that.  M didn’t even know what happened.  hehe.

Now I feel like I want to print out our table numbers and menus but tonight really isn’t the night to try and finish all of this.  The printer seems to print a little pinker on the card stock.  I was worried because my “mock up” menus seemed to be a little more red.  Anyway, I might test out the menu once more before I take it somewhere.  But I think the table numbers, all 4 of them, will be fine to be printed at home.

This weekend is my bachelorette party weekend.  A couple of the girls and myself are going to Wilmington.  It should be a fun time.  A good friend from Texas is flying in tomorrow afternoon.  YAY!  I haven’t seen her in a while so it will be nice to catch up.

YAY birthdays!  I am slowly trying to overcome my birthday scrooge-ness.  I got home from work today and there were presents on the table and a delicious piece of carrot cake.

M did an awesome job this year and got me a mani/pedi, a new digital camera – a point and shoot that we needed, and a few camera accessories.  Then we headed to Coquette for dinner.  All in all I have to say I had a really nice birthday.

I feel like I spent the majority of my weekend working on wedding stuff.  And luckily I feel like I got a good bit done.  Here is my list:

• Cake topper – DONE!  Hell yeah it is finally finished.
• Wedding fragrance – Check.  I found so awesome body spray at Target.
• Table numbers – Almost done.  I bought frames and I got more card stock (and still not enough) at Michael’s today.  I just need to get the numbers printed.
• Menus – Done, minus printing and card stock.
• Place Cards – bought.  I found some cute little stickers to add as well.  This “should” identify beef or fish. 😉
• Gift bags for our OOT favors -Check.
• Cute decal for my day of tank – Check.  Now I need to buy a tank.

I think that is everything for today.  And I think that is a pretty good list considering I didn’t really think I had much left.  Just the small stuff. 😉

Well, I wasn’t going to write about my ring tonight but since tomorrow is my birthday I may not blog.  So here’s the story.  I called after lunch since my ring was supposed to be in today.  The girl said it was here and would be ready for pick up this afternoon.  I met M at the store after work and waited to see if it was finally right.  The girl brings out a box and inside are both rings.  Ahhhhhh, it is the RIGHT ring.  It is really pretty YAY!  It is also in fact, TOO BIG!  Like a little more then half a size too big.  *hand slap to forehead*

So after nearly 4 months and one wrong ring, it’s still not right.  In fact is was ordered too big.  Who knows how.  And apparently my engagement ring is actually a little smaller then I originally thought.  I am positive I had Jared make it a 3 1/2.  It is a large 3 3/8.  They now have to send it BACK to Charlotte to have it sized with a laser.  I still can’t believe how many issues we’ve had.

On a positive note, M’s ring is right, engraved and sitting in his drawer beside the bed.  And my ring should be back the first week of April.  I’m scared if anything else goes wrong someone will cry.  At the store.  And it will not be M or me.  😉  Maybe one day I will get this damn ring.
