The other night M and I decided the weather was chili worthy. On my way home M asked me to stop and get some peppers and an onion and a couple of lotto tickets (it was at 104 million – obviously we did not win).  I got home and M began working on our first pot of chili for the season. After some minor tweaks and a little bit of this and a little bit of that we decided it was ready. M grabbed a bowl of chili and a bowl of chips. I grabbed my bowl of chili and we had dinner on the couch, as we do most nights. 🙂
Anyway, once M was done with chips I grabbed the bowl and started to eat them with my chili. As usual Julio decided that he needed to be as close as possible to what I was eating. Sometimes this bothers me and I make him move and other times I’ll let him sit in my lap. This was one of those, he can sit in my lap nights. I knew he wanted some of what I had but I thought the chili was a little to spicy for his “tummy troubles” so I gave him a little piece of a chip. He ate the chip and I continued eating my chili. Then he decides to just stick his head IN the bowl of chip crumbs! Okay, really?!?!?! M and I look at each other, look at Julio who is still trying to get a little chip piece, look at each other laughing and wait. He finally gets the chip piece, sits on the couch and eats it. At this point M and I were cracking up. This really just happened. And more importantly we just watched and laughed. I told M we were gonna make great parents.
Julio is such a little rascal but he’s so darn cute it takes a lot for either of us to really get mad at him. And for the most part he is pretty obedient. The other night when T was at the house helping with the baby shower invites Julio thought he would just get on the table. I looked at him and told him no and to get down. He got down. T, who has cats, couldn’t believe he actually listened to me. What can I say, we are great fur baby parents! 🙂
Happy Friday!
