First off let me say, YAY Friday!  It has been a looooong week.  Secondly, can I just say it looks as though I will get another diamond ring for my birthday.  As the 3 of you may remember, M proposed the night before my birthday last year.  So diamond ring one, check.  Diamond ring two, almost check.  After 4 LONG months of waiting, it appears my wedding band should be here Monday.  FINALLY!

I had a dream the other night it was wrong again.  Ughh, so let’s cross our fingers and hope for the best the second time around.  I am so glad we started this process in December since it has taken forever.  But if the ring is as I expect it to be I will be in love with it and it will have been worth the wait.

And lastly I want to leave you with a nice little pic.  A thank you from the higher ups for a job well done.  And a perk of living in ACC (basketball country).

In the past few days my computer at work has gone from bearable to down right POS.  It has always been on the slow side but on Friday it locked up and since it was almost time to go I just turned it off.  Monday morning was a nightmare because it started acting up as soon as I turned it back on.  To the point I told my boss I would work from home, and I’m pretty sure he considered – for a second.  🙂  It took almost an hour before it finally started working.

The rest of the week has been one lock up, freeze, and crash after another.  The plus side is once this would happen it would be okay for a while.  Well today was the final straw.  We were dealing with some issues from the system roll out last night and my boss was at my desk.  After about 10 minutes he called our office manager to find out where my new (refurb) computer was.

By lunch it had frozen a few more times, I may have kicked it a little during these times ;), and he called again.  FINALLY I was sitting there and the OM walks up with a new tower.  I just turned my computer off so he can hook up the new one.  YAY!!!!!

It took a few minutes to get acquainted with my new machine, and well it took quite a while to remember my damn IM passwords, but let me just say, I LOVE IT!  My computer had been soooo crappy for soooo long I’d forgotten what it was like to actually be able to work at my pace and not my computer’s pace.  Oh what a wonderful day!  That and March Madness started.  Hell yeah!

I emailed the wedding coordinator today to figure out when we needed to have our meal selections in for the reception.  I was also curious as to what I needed to do for place cards since one would assume there will be/should be assigned seating for our guests.  I had planned to pick up a couple of cute picture frames to use as table numbers and then include a menu on each plate.  Well, according to the coordinator, I will be charged a “set up” fee for this.  WTF?!?!?  A set up fee, mind you, that would be like 5 times the cost of the actual articles I want to use.  She also tells me they offer a “package” for this for x amount for 4 people.  (Each table seats 8.)  I figure up the amount for our guest count and it currently equals the “set up” fee.

Now if the set up fee is just that and not for each table I might consider this.  Granted it’s basically throwing money away but I feel it would add a nice touch to each table.  If the set up fee is per table, she is outta her DAMN mind! I’ll have to wait for her email tomorrow which will also tell me what happens if I choose to not do place cards at all.  And I might just NOT do them.  We’ll see what tomorrow brings.

I guess this is how the money is made.  In the grand scheme of things I know this is not a big deal and not worrying about the details is one thing M and I liked about this option.  But really, I just want a couple of cute frames and some menus!  *stomps feet*  Is it too much to ask!

1 month, 4 weeks and 1 day.  I’m not even sure how it is possible for a ticker to have this as a countdown but that sure is what my ticker says today.  And OMG!  We are finally under 2 months.  The wedding will be here before we know it and if I don’t get a move on, my cake topper will be pink sans rhinestones.  Seriously I need to get on this and ASAP!

I think this weekend might just be the weekend to finish up all the final wedding projects I have going.  Just a few more things and a few more weeks.

Oh and can I just say I LOVE day light savings time!  It is so nice to get off work and drive home in the light.  It feels less like winter and more like well, spring.  🙂

So yesterday I went to the dentist.  *Gasp* I had a few cavities that needed to be filled.  I’ve known about one for a while and I’ve been putting it off.  Mainly because my dentist wouldn’t file my claims which meant I would have to pay upfront (and that would be a good bit of money) and wait for the insurance company to reimburse me.

When I moved in with M and it came time to go back to the dentist, my current dentist just wasn’t very convenient (not to mention affordable).  I noticed another office not far from the house so I decided to give them a try.  After getting an appointment for a cleaning and meeting with the dentist, I decided it was finally time to bite the bullet and get my fillings done.

I have to say I was a little nervous about the whole thing.  I haven’t had a filling since I was maybe 6 years old.  Back then, my mom worked for the dentist and they gave you gas.  The last big procedure I had was having 2 of my wisdom teeth pulled back when I was in my early 20’s.  That is actually a pretty funny story I should write down at some point.  Anyhoo, seeing as I was a bit nervous I decided to take some anxiety medicine my doctor has given me.  This seemed to take the edge off a little but I was still a little concerned.

When the dental assistant called me back I asked if I could listen to music on my phone.  She said it was fine so I got my headphones ready.  The assistant did a good job of talking to me before everything began.  We talked about wedding plans until the dentist came in.  He greeted me, set up shop and I put my headphones in.  And yeah, headphones really do NOTHING to drown out the sounds of drilling in your teeth.  But it made me feel better.

Finally the dentist said we were done.  It took a little longer then I thought it would but overall it wasn’t a bad experience.  And you can’t even tell where my fillings are.  I can feel them a little.  It kind of feels like my tooth is dirty but apparently it will wear down soon and I shouldn’t feel it.  I guess I feel it too because there is something new and weird in my mouth.

Thankfully I never really had any pain and this morning I felt fine.  I feel like my jaw hurts a little now but I think most of it has to do with me continuing to rub my tongue over there and less that it actually hurts.

And now that I have literally written a novel about dental work I will shut up.  🙂

Apparently I am a twitcher.  Last night while M and I were cuddling, he reminded me of what I had planned to blog about yesterday, Twitching.

The other night we were lying in bed cuddling getting ready to go to sleep.  Our usual routine of  Big C little c, Cc (or spooning).  Anyway, as we were lying there M makes the comment that he hopes I don’t go into a twitching fight like I had done the night before.  I ask him what he’s talking about and he goes on to explain that as I begin to fall asleep, I begin to twitch.  Sometimes I know I twitch and I wake myself up.  But I didn’t realize I twitched like he described.  This had me in stitches.  I had the giggles for a while just thinking about what he’d said.

I imagine it’s something similar to this, only lying in bed.

You are welcome for the amusing clip art.  But this is how M described my twitching fits.  Even last night as we were laying there he goes, “Stop twitching!”  Okay I had no idea I’d just twitched.  I wasn’t yet asleep but I never felt the twitch.

But let’s be fair about this because he will also begin to twitch when he is falling asleep.  Normally though I think I’m asleep so I don’t feel these much and I just want to point the finger.

I feel bad because the conversation we had the other night was hilarious and I just can’t even begin to do it justice and make this post funny.  Oh well.

Yeah that pretty much sums up my day.  People were annoying and stupid which lead to me stopping by the store and picking up a bottle of wine.  Mmmmmm!  It was delicious.  Well not the whole bottle, only 2 glasses. 😉

Speaking of drinking, I finally feel like drinking has fallen WAY down the list of things to do.  Don’t get me wrong, I don’t ever foresee a time when I will pass up a glass of wine but I feel like I am finally to the point where going out and getting drunk just doesn’t seem like a whole lot of fun.  I listen to my co-workers talk about “getting wasted” and I feel like a big ol’ stick in the mud.  To the point it actually annoys me a bit.  I know, I know, hello pot meet kettle.  I guess I just feel like at this point in my life there are other things to do.  Let alone I finally think hangovers SUCK.  It’s the worst waking up and feeling like crap.

So I guess this is what it feels like to finally feel settled in your life.  To feel completely happy and secure with where you are and what you want.  And now I feel like getting married, becoming a wife and mom are more important now.

I also have my own selfish reasons for feeling like I need to cut back on the alcohol.  Losing weight!  Hehe.  I know it’s silly but in the past couple of months I have been drinking less and my waist line is looking better.  🙂   It’s not that I’m really losing weight but mostly maintaining.  It makes me feel good to wake up and “feel” skinny.  Now I just need to keep it up long enough to squeeze into my wedding dress.

I got home today to a nice postcard from the dermatologist office.  (Postcards are good, phone calls are bad.)  The little scabby thing on my face was basically a precancerous sun spot.  I know it doesn’t sound great but it sounds a heck of a lot better then a phone call saying it was cancerous.  So I will be pleased with this result.  And maybe, just maybe I will try to be a bit more diligent with the sunscreen.  But in my defense my make up contains sunscreen as do most of my moisturizers.

Now I will continue to slather this little spot with Mederma in hopes there won’t be a scar.

I haven’t really posted much of the DIY wedding items I’ve been working on but I finished a few things this weekend so here you go.

The first is my DIY bridal suite/do not disturb sign.  I made this so the bridal suite and do not disturb signs would be interchangeable.  I didn’t feel like making 2 signs and in order to save a little space this seemed to work well.  I basically just added slits to the corners and the signs slip in.

The next thing I worked on was my cake topper.  The DREADED cake topper!  M and I ran to Michael’s on Saturday to pick up more rhinestones.  And wouldn’t you know, I didn’t get the hot fix ones (so I will have to hand glue them!)  And I didn’t get ENOUGH!  ARGGGG!  Seriously.  But I think it will look good.  I ran to Michael’s at lunch and picked up one more pack so this should finish it off.

Now I can finish up the last corner.  You can’t really tell but the rhinestones are a pale pink.  I think they will add just enough sparkle.  I’d thought about filling in the whole thing but that would probably require a million of these little boogers.  So this is what I’m going with.

And lastly I finished up my day of hoodie.  I might add another heart to the shorts but this one is done.

I finally coaxed Julio into his carrier last night.  How cute!

Julio went to the vet tonight and was such a good boy.  The vet and tech ohhh’ed and ahhh’ed over him.  He got a TON of yummy yummy treats and barely notice he got 2 shots.  He was so good I even bought him a new toy.
