YAY! Â A wedding check finally. Â I ordered my wedding band the beginning of December and the sales girl told me it should be ready before Christmas. Â Well here we are several weeks AFTER Christmas and I had yet to receive a call that my band was in. Â I finally decided to call today and see if I could get the status. Â I know I still have 4 more months but I was growing a little impatient. Â I was very excited when the girl told me it has just arrived.
I immediately IM’ed M to let him know.  Hopefully we can go after work and pick it up.  Plus we REALLY REALLY need to find his wedding band.  I suggested he go after work and I could meet him there.  I kind of think he might do better trying to find a ring if I’m not there.  I think this will let him focus more on what he likes and wants.
I really hope I like my ring. Â I haven’t seen it or even what it might actually look like. Â I know the ring that I liked and I’ve seen a few online that should be similar. Â I hope it love it. Â 🙂

While I was off for vacation I decided that, no matter what, I would get our wedding invitations ready to go out the first week of January. Â Yesterday M and I ran to Kinko’s so we could get our lovely invitations printed and not waste our time. Â I was more then a little surprised when the guy behind the counter looked at the invitation, looked at me and said, “it has to be a full sheet of paper.” Â Umm, what!?!?!
After the confusion passed, we headed back to the house to figure out what kind of ink we needed so we could print them ourselves. Â When we got home M set the printer up on the table and helped me figure out exactly what I needed to do. Â I played around with the color and had almost given up when I finally found a pink that would work. Â It was a little lighter then I wanted but the darker ones were either too red or too purple.
Once I was set on my color I began printing off my invitations and accommodations cards.  After I had everything printed out I set up a little station on the coffee table and began to construct my invites.  Which basically means I put the invitation in the holder and then put the accommodations card on top of that.  Then I stuffed all the invitations into the nice and pretty handwritten envelopes, sealed them and put a sticker on the back.
Determined to get these suckers out TODAY I packed everything up neatly last night so I could do my usual run out the door in the morning.  At lunch I decided I would run to the post office and pick up my stamps.  Since the invitations felt pretty light I was sure they would be regular postage.  Yep, I was wrong!  I think there is some wedding conspiracy!
I get up to the window and ask the lady to weigh the invite just to make sure. Â Sure enough they are .1 ounce over! Â ONE TENTH of an ounce over! Â Seriously!?!?!?! Â Arggg! Â Anyway, the lady figures up the postage I need and rings me up. Â Postage alone cost almost as much as the stupid invites and they were CHEAP. Â But spending that on postage is stupid!
Needless to say the invitations are out. Â People should start receiving them in the next few days.
The new year has really brought a new excitement about the wedding. Â Each day that passes gets us one day closer. Â Each week is one week closer. Â I’m glad the new year brought this excitement because I still have a few more DIY’s I need to finish up.
