I love that M loves football. I am a big college football fan so I like that this is something we share. However, over the weekend M noticed that the NFL Network was having a free preview weekend. This meant back to back to back football.  He even found a “highlights” channel. So every 2 minutes or so the game would change. I had no idea what was going on or who was playing let alone winning. Sheesh! We will NOT be getting that package. Now tonight is Monday night football. I foresee quite a few chick flicks in the near future. Don’t get me wrong I like COLLEGE football but I could do without the NFL.
When M vegged out to football yesterday I figured I had one of two options, go shopping and spend money that really didn’t need to be spent or see if I could work on some wedding projects. Wedding projects won. M mentioned that I probably needed to start working on the invitations so I set out to find a few more fonts I might like. Well this lead to near disaster. I went to a bad website which took out my computer :( Oopsy! M messed with it on and off through out the afternoon and finally got it back in working order. YAY! (I <3 that he will fix my computer, hehe).
Since my computer was down for a while I didn’t really feel like I could work on my invitations so I decided I was going to start jeweling things. I bought a hoodie from VS last weekend so I pulled that out to see how many more crystals I would need. Turns out I need more then I have. :) But I did have enough to start working on my veil. Once I figured out the tulle wouldn’t melt under the heat of the iron I was good to go. I ironed the tulle to make it flat. Then I started working on the pattern of the crystals. I knew my veil would be pretty small so I only did 3 rows across in a staggered diamond pattern. And let me just say, ironing tiny crystals onto tulle with tiny weaving is a pain in the ass. It took me about 30-45 minutes to get the crystals on. But in the end I’m glad I spent the time. After that I tried to “sew” the top together (which is basically weaving string in and out and pulling it together) but I couldn’t really figure it out. I just gathered the top and bottom edges together and then tied some string around it. Worked just fine. The hair flower I found to go with it had a pin and hair clip option so I pinned the veil to the flower and I can just clip it in. This also makes me realize this might be why my back is in knots today. Ughh. Anyway here is the finished product.
