So I’m actually gonna write tomorrow’s blog right now since I have the day off. And well it just feels like a good time to write.
The other night I decided to open the bottle of wine some friends gave me for taking pics at their wedding. I decided it might be a good idea not to finish the bottle the other night and I’m glad I saved it for now. M and I decided to have spaghetti for dinner, which goes GREAT with red wine. :) So now M and I are sitting on the couch listening to music, I’m drinking wine and I’ve been reading blogs. There is nothing on TV and I felt more inclined to sit and write. I will grab a book soon and join him in the the calmness of the night. It just feels like the right thing to do.
I talk about Julio on here quite often but I don’t think I’ve said much about our/my other cat Halle. I got Halle almost 10 years ago. It was my last year of college and I was living by myself. (There was a small incident with my roommate, her bf and the cops. He came to our place and beat her up, with me there, NOT COOL.) Anyway I convinced my landlord to let me get a kitten. I grew up with cats and I couldn’t wait to get my very own kitten. Hal was such a cute little girl. Solid black, only a tiny white spot on her belly. Because it was just me and her I talked to her alot and in return she started talking back….boy if I’d only known. She has been an only kitty most of her life except for brief stints living with my parents, it was just me and her. I have to admit that I don’t give her the attention I used to, but she isn’t really an affectionate cat. She likes her Halle space and cuddles when she wants. I’m sure it has been a big adjustment moving to M’s house and then there’s Julio (her nightmare). But she is still my Hal.
Hal’s always been a “I want what you have” type cat. This pretty much includes everything food related. I even found that just like her mom, she likes red wine. So as I refilled my glass tonight and saw her laying on the stairs I decided to see if she’d like a drop or two. I will put my finger in the glass get a drop and let her lick it off. She likes wine. It’s good. :) Anyway as I was going to get a drop from the glass Julio decided he had to know what was going on. He walks over, smells the glass, backs away and then moves closer to Hal’s mouth. As he does this I accidentally hit his face with the drop of wine. He immediately grimaces, backs away, shakes his head and scurries off. It was really quite funny.
***I hope no one finds this post offensive. I do NOT get my cat drunk, only a few drops licked off my finger.
Well I guess I will join M in the solace of a good book. I am currently reading Finger Lickin’ Fifteen by Janet Evanovich. It is a great series if you haven’t read them. They are easy reads and Laugh out Loud funny!
Enjoy your Friday!
