It’s baaaack! Jan 28

And just as the weekend approaches I am finally starting to feel better.  I even managed to go to work for a little while today.  By lunch I was pretty exhausted and needed a nap.  My boss was nice enough to let me work from home this afternoon but not before I snuck in a little snoozer.

Unfortunately for M he is now in day 1 of the plague.  Hopefully we can manage to not pass the crap back and forth.

Day 3 Jan 27

And I still feel like crap.  I am running fever, my body aches and head is stopped up.  Thankfully the cough that has plagued me for the past 2 days has died down.  My ribs and throat are so sore from coughing it’s unreal.

I think it’s time for another nap since I’m just sitting here staring at the computer.  I am crossing my fingers I will start to feel better soon.

Hello bus Jan 25

Last night apparently I got hit by a bus because this morning I feel awful.  I have had a nagging cough since yesterday afternoon and just feel like crap.  My body is achy but I don’t know if it’s because I don’t feel well or from the yoga I did last night.  I am so tired of feeling bad.  I keep going to the doctor but I don’t ever really feel better.

I think it might be time to find an ENT or an allergist.  I’m not sure which would be better but somethings gotta give here.  Ughh!

M and I have another call with our wedding coordinator today.  I managed to write down a few questions but I’m sure I will have more.  Anyway I hope we can get the last of the details worked out soon.  I am not really in the mood to deal with people so I’m crossing my fingers bridezilla doesn’t rear her ugly head today.  Wish me luck!

Holy Cow! Jan 24

Last night I asked M to help me get the measurements right for my bridal suite door hanger.  This will also double as a Do Not Disturb the newlyweds door hanger.  I feel like I keep seeing cute ideas and then I want to make them.  Once I get my bridal suite sign done I plan to start working on my Mr. and Mrs. chair hangers.  These may or may not be on wood.  But if I make them on wood they will be thin.  🙂

Anyway, the point to this post was supposed to be HOLY COW, I’m getting married, SOON!  AHHHHHHHHHHHH!  That was pretty much my realization last night.  Of course I could have been a little nervous about trying to get my paper cut correctly.  I am not so good with measurements and the thought of trying to get this cut at work was stressing me out.

M made sure to give me all the measurements and explained exactly what I needed to do.  This didn’t help much but it did make more sense.  Well after a quest around the whole building I was unable to find our paper cutter.  Dammit!  So it looks like I will be stopping by Staples tomorrow at lunch to buy a small paper cutter.  M told me he would help me if I buy a cutter.  YES!

I’m starting to feel like we still have so much stuff left to do and our time is running out.  Thankfully most of the big stuff is done and now it’s just the small “details” I keep sweating or putting off, who can tell!  And as I’m typing this I just realized M and I have a call with the wedding coordinator tomorrow during lunch.  Hmmm, when will I get to run by Staples?  Crap!  I guess I will figure it out.

Till tomorrow!

A post about a post Jan 21

I know I am late writing today.  I’ve spent most of the day trying to decide what to write.  Well now there is currently a post written but I’m not sure it’s something I’m ready to publish just yet.  There has been a lot of drama in internet land lately and the post I just wrote goes into a lot of it.

I guess I haven’t had enough wine since I restrained myself and hit the save button.  On the off chance anyone does read my blog, just know that there is something waiting to said.  For now it will sit.

Yoga hurts Jan 20

Since I am now on a “must work out” kick, I decided to start doing the P90X yoga DVD.  M doesn’t really like it and I felt it would be a nice start.  Last night I decided I would just pick up where I’d left off the night before.  Easy right?  Hmrph.  The moves in the second half hour were more balance oriented so I didn’t feel like I was doing push ups the entire time which was nice.  But let me tell you, for someone with no flexibility, yoga is not the easiest thing to do.

I try to do everything or at least the modified version.  This was all fine a good until I finished.  I felt I’d done a pretty good work out but not over done it.  I was wrong!  About half an hour after I finished my lower back started to ache.  This was not too surprising since I haven’t worked out in a while.  I expected to be a little sore.  But as the night went on my back felt more tense.  I made M rub it but it didn’t really seem to help.

Once I got upstairs I grabbed the heating pad and laid on that until I went to sleep.  This morning though my back is tender to the touch.  It’s not painful per se, only achy.  What bothers me is the pain that feels almost bruise like when you touch a spot on my lower back.  I have no idea what exactly I did to pull this muscle but wow!

There will definitely not be any yoga in my future for tonight.  Tonight I plan to lay on the heating pad again and maybe take a hot bath.  Hopefully tomorrow it won’t be as sore.

Meet DIDdy Jan 19

Today my co-worker and I ran to the pet store.  We’ve been talking about getting a work fish.  So today was the day.

Meet DIDdy.

He’s getting used to his new bowl right now.  We plan to let him out this afternoon.

I guess I should explain his name.  We work with phone numbers all day called DIDs.  So DIDdy seemed like a cute name for our fish mascot.

It’s NOT that hard! Jan 18

I can feel a rant coming on.  The 30 minutes of yoga haven’t helped much.  And btw, who in their right mind thought 90 minutes of yoga was a good idea?  Oh yeah that crazy P90X guy!

Today I decided it was THE day to start working on my pre-wedding routine.  Yeah, yeah I know.  I’ve had a while and I’ve just now decided to started thinking about this.  Well today I thought it would be a good idea to start polling the other knotties about their pre-wedding routines.  Everyone pretty much said the same things.  The same things I’m not really doing.  I decided today was the day I would get back on the work out horse and up my h20 consumption.  Needless to say, I spent a lot of time in the bathroom this afternoon.  🙂  And hence the yoga.

Just for the record, the yoga IS that hard.  Checking a website that was designed to keep you up to date on your daughter’s wedding, NOT hard!  Hence the rant.

I was talking to my mom on the way home and we start talking about the wedding.  She proceeds to ask me why our TA won’t send her a brochure.  Okay really?!?!?  I explain to her that’s NOT what the TA does.  She lives in freaking Iowa, I bet she doesn’t really have that stuff lying around.  I ask mom if she has looked at the wedding website.  Of course not.  She’s like, “where is that?”  On the card that came with the invitations not to mention the Save the Dates that were sent out in October.  I then explain to her that ALL of the wedding stuff is on the website.

I’m just like really!  I didn’t spend a lot of time working on our site so our guests would have all the information they needed.  I also included links to the hotel, some pics and other random stuff.  Everything you need to know in one convenient site.

I really hope our other guests have taken advantage of this site.  I just feel dumbfounded one wouldn’t look at the one place all the wedding info would be in.

Bad dream? Jan 17

Due to a looooong lunch, I didn’t really have to time blog at work.  I hate when work interferes with my regular plans.  🙂

Anyhoo.  Over the weekend I had something happened that I don’t think has ever happened.  At least not that I remember.  I’ve mentioned before that I have pretty vivid dreams.  I normally remember my dreams when I wake up and sometimes a dream will have lingering effects on how I feel all day.

Well Saturday night/Sunday morning I woke up from a really bad dream and proceeded to cry.  I woke M up and made him cuddle.  Even though the dream was over every time I closed my eyes the dream would come back.  I laid awake staring at the door for about an hour until I was super tired and fell back asleep.

I find it really odd that this dream actually made me cry.  I’ve had some pretty crazy dreams and I’m surprised by my reaction.  Now, thinking back on the dream, it is still very unpleasant and not like most dreams I have.  Honestly I can’t even remember the last time I had a dream so bad I couldn’t sleep after.

I guess all the scary movies I watch finally caught up with me.  I would normally associate something like this to a recent movie.  And until just now I couldn’t think of any movies that had left an unpleasant feeling behind.  It just hit me as I was writing this where the thoughts may have come from.  Granted its been a few weeks since I watched it.  Hmmmm!

It still doesn’t really make any sense.  But rarely do dreams make a ton of sense.

Till tomorrow!

Smell the day Jan 14

Do you ever smell something and it takes you to a place you had long forgotten?  This happens to me a lot actually.  Sometimes smells will just “come” and it makes me think of a certain time or place.  Most of the time I love when this happens.  Being transported to a memory you forgot you had.

The other day I was checking out a fellow knottie’s planning bio, she has a LARGE to-do checklist.  It was overwhelming really.  🙂  But as I skimmed down the list I noticed one particular item.  *Buy new fragrance and wear for wedding related events.  Hmmmm, really?  This made me stop and pause for a minute.  I had never thought to do this.  Why?  I have no idea considering.

A week or so before M and I went to London 2 years ago I picked up a new body spray at Target.  I wanted something that would travel easily and didn’t feel like lugging my regular perfume around.  The body spray I grabbed is pretty different from my normal everyday perfume and I thought it was nice to have a new “smell” while we were on vacation.  Ever since then, when I use the body spray I immediately think of our trip to London.  Funny huh?

Well that’s the point of this post.  It’s funny because just the other day I used the body spray, thought about how it always reminded me of London but never thought to do the same for our wedding.

I told M this morning that each of us needed to get a new scent that we only wear for wedding related things.  When I reminded him of the body spray and how it reminds both of us of London, he agreed.  Granted we will just pick up something inexpensive since we both got more perfume and cologne for Christmas.

I’m kind of excited about this and want to thank this knottie for sharing.  I can’t wait to have something that will transport me back to such a special event in my life.  Things like anniversaries will hopefully be a bit more special when that certain “smell” is used.

TGIF!
