So yesterday I went to the dentist. \u00c2\u00a0*Gasp* I had a few cavities that needed to be filled. \u00c2\u00a0I’ve known about one for a while and I’ve been putting it off. \u00c2\u00a0Mainly because my dentist wouldn’t file my claims which meant I would have to pay upfront (and that would be a good bit of money) and wait for the insurance company to reimburse me.<\/p>\n
When I moved in with M and it came time to go back to the dentist, my current dentist just wasn’t very\u00c2\u00a0convenient (not to mention affordable). \u00c2\u00a0I noticed another office not far from the house so I decided to give them a try. \u00c2\u00a0After getting an appointment for a cleaning and meeting with the dentist, I decided it was finally time to bite the bullet and get my fillings done.<\/p>\n
I have to say I was a little nervous about the whole thing. \u00c2\u00a0I haven’t had a filling since I was maybe 6 years old. \u00c2\u00a0Back then, my mom worked for the dentist and they gave you gas. \u00c2\u00a0The last big procedure I had was having 2 of my wisdom teeth pulled back when I was in my early 20’s. \u00c2\u00a0That is actually a pretty funny story I should write down at some point. \u00c2\u00a0Anyhoo, seeing as I was a bit nervous I decided to take some anxiety medicine my doctor has given me. \u00c2\u00a0This seemed to take the edge off a little but I was still a little concerned.<\/p>\n
When the dental assistant called me back I asked if I could listen to music on my phone. \u00c2\u00a0She said it was fine so I got my headphones ready. \u00c2\u00a0The assistant did a good job of talking to me before everything began. \u00c2\u00a0We talked about wedding plans until the dentist came in. \u00c2\u00a0He greeted me, set up shop and I put my headphones in. \u00c2\u00a0And yeah, headphones really do NOTHING to drown out the sounds of drilling in your teeth. \u00c2\u00a0But it made me feel better.<\/p>\n
Finally the dentist said we were done. \u00c2\u00a0It took a little longer then I thought it would but overall it wasn’t a bad experience. \u00c2\u00a0And you can’t even tell where my fillings are. \u00c2\u00a0I can feel them a little. \u00c2\u00a0It kind of feels like my tooth is dirty but apparently it will wear down soon and I shouldn’t feel it. \u00c2\u00a0I guess I feel it too because there is something new and weird in my mouth.<\/p>\n
Thankfully I never really had any pain and this morning I felt fine. \u00c2\u00a0I feel like my jaw hurts a little now but I think most of it has to do with me continuing to rub my tongue over there and less that it actually hurts.<\/p>\n
And now that I have literally written a novel about dental work I will shut up. \u00c2\u00a0\ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n
