According to my calculations Halle was born on August 16th, 2000.\u00c2\u00a0 Of course since she is a cat, who really knows but this is the date I gave her as her birthday.\u00c2\u00a0 I didn’t actually get Halle until October of 2000.\u00c2\u00a0 Due to some unfortunate or fortunate situations, I had to get my own place.\u00c2\u00a0 This was my last year of college and having had numerous roommate issues mom and dad finally caved and got me a place of my own.<\/p>\n

I really wanted a kitten but the apartment I rented didn’t allow pets.\u00c2\u00a0 But when I went to sign my lease there was a lady there discussing her daughter’s dog, which was allowed at the townhouses they rented.\u00c2\u00a0 However, I was able to convince the landlord that a cute little kitten would be no problem and that NO ONE would know I had a cat.\u00c2\u00a0 I guess she felt bad for me or I was very convincing, and she said yes.\u00c2\u00a0 I immediately called my mom to let her know.\u00c2\u00a0 She was not a fan of this idea but once I had moved in I headed to the nearest pet store.\u00c2\u00a0 And what did I find, the cutest little solid black kitten.\u00c2\u00a0 It could have been a boy, but I thought it might be a girl.\u00c2\u00a0 Mom wanted me to get a boy, I wanted a girl. ;)\u00c2\u00a0 And this is how I came to have Halle.\u00c2\u00a0 Since she was solid black and I got her in October I came up with the name Halle, like Halloween.<\/p>\n

Poor Hal, she has been a trooper over the past 10 years.\u00c2\u00a0 She has endured moving from Auburn to Prattville to Montgomery to Austin to Raleigh.\u00c2\u00a0 And that’s not including the various apartments we lived in in those places.\u00c2\u00a0 She even lived with a dog for a short period of time.<\/p>\n

She is more like a child and less like a cat sometimes.\u00c2\u00a0 Unfortunately since the arrival of Julio, Hal has been a bit more of a loner.\u00c2\u00a0 Not that she wasn’t always but I don’t get to cuddle with her as much.<\/p>\n

Since I seem to talk about Julio so much I wanted to post a little something for Hal.\u00c2\u00a0 Happy Birthday Halle.<\/p>\n
