I just looked at my counter and it seems like a lot people have viewed my site since yesterday. I know I only have like 5 people who read my blog so who else is looking at this thing???
Yesterday M and I finalized our wedding plans! YAY!!! I don’t think anyone is more excited then I am to finally have a date, time and place secured. We will be getting married in St. Lucia. I think this will make many people happy not just M and I. I am actually very happy with our hotel choice, date and time. As I’ve said the time was really the most important thing to me. We received our wedding packet from the hotel today. I knew anything was available for a price and it seems that for $6000.00 we could have gotten married at 5:30. Seriously!?!??!?!?! Six THOUSAND dollars!!!!! And from what I could tell there aren’t a whole lot of differences from the FREE package we will receive.  Money apparently will buy anything. Unfortunately for Sandals and St Lucia, I am completely happy with the 4pm time-slot we locked in. Yes I would prefer 6:00 but even for 6 grand I can’t get that time so, 4 will work.
We also found out that Friday nights are “street/carnival” night at our resort. I think this should really be fun. I hope that we will be able to make our wedding/reception as non-traditional as possible. M and I both agreed that a destination wedding fits our needs on many levels. First and foremost I have always dreamed of getting married on a beach. And just let me say I was never the girl who had her wedding planned. But the beach has been the constant. M on the other hand has been in and to so many weddings that he didn’t want the “run of the mill” wedding. He doesn’t want all the “fluff”. I don’t mind some of the “fluff” but I definitely don’t want a wedding that would be the same as if it were in Raleigh. I am hoping we will come up with some pretty unique ideas for our wedding that will truly make it “ours”.
I’m sure there will be more wedding details to come and I will continue to update our blog. I do really like the idea of having all of this to look back on at some point. And I like that I have a place to put my ideas. It should be fun to see how it all unfolds and what exactly happens.
Happy Friday!
